Aldi Copycat Chick-fil-a Sandwich
The Aldi community is going crazy for a chicken sandwich that tastes seriously similar to the Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich..and the best part? You can make at least 4 Copycat Aldi Chick-fil-a Sandwiches for less than the price of two combo meals!
Of course, we were intrigued and had to try the Copycat Aldi Chick-fil-a sandwich for ourselves. We made these babies on Sunday just for kicks…because you know, Chick-fil-a is closed on Sunday and that’s ALWAYS when we get a craving.
To make the Aldi Copycat Chick-fil-a sandwich you’ll need to purchase these specific items at Aldi:
Copycat Chick-fil-a Sandwich
Ingredients
- Kirkwood Chicken Breast Fillets (the RED bag – $5.99)
- Specialty Selected Brioche Buns (There are no substitutions for these buns – $2.49)
- Great Gherkins Hamburger Dill Pickle Chips – We used Aldi Atomic Pickles because we wanted a spicy kick ($3.79) but OH SNAP! Dilly Bites are another popular choice without the spice.
How to Make Aldi Copycat Chick-fil-a Sandwich
1. For BEST results, use an air fryer to cook the Kirkwood Breaded Chicken Breast Fillets. This ensures the chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
Air fryer cooking times vary, but we have success at 400 degrees for 10 minutes on each side.
After the first ten minutes flip the fillets and adjust cooking time if needed. The chicken patties are pre-cooked, so there isn’t a concern on reaching an internal cooking temperature – just a heated interior and crispy exterior that isn’t overdone.
The bag of Kirkwood breaded chicken breast fillets features an oven-cooking method. This would be the second-best option with oven cooking temperature at 400 degrees F for 15-20 minutes on each side. We do not recommend heating in the microwave as this will not result in a copycat Chick-fil-a sandwich.
2. Lightly butter and toast Brioche Buns.
3. Assemble breaded chicken fillets on toasted buns with dill pickle chips. Enjoy!
If you don’t have an air fryer and missed out on the Ambiano Air Fryer at Aldi, consider picking one up from Amazon (these are affiliate links and we may receive a small commission) — it will change how you cook fried foods forever!

[…] these truly make a restaurant quality sandwich. The first time we tried these, we followed this Copycat Aldi Chick-fil-A Sandwich. For a separate meal, we added Swiss cheese and Deutsche Kuche sweet mustard to the sandwich. Both […]
Tried it and loved it. Making it again tonight.
[…] One of our favorite things in the Aldi bread selection is the line of brioche products. The brioche buns, in particular, are a huge favorite with our Aldi Aisle of Shame Community members, and they are a key component in the Copycat Aldi Chick-fil-a Sandwich. […]
Should you thaw or keep chick frozen?
Cook frozen.
[…] You can find a basic bottle of barbecue sauce year-round at Aldi, but you’ll only find the specialty sauces in the summer. There are Memphis, Texas, and Kansas City Styles in addition to this Carolina-style sauce, which is a staple in our Copycat Chick-fil-A Sandwich. […]
These chicken breast filets are wonderful. The breading and spices are perfect, with just a hint of heat. They are so easy to cook in the air fryer, and have a very nice, crispy crust. I didn’t know frozen bagged chicken could be so good. My daughter-in-law introduced me to them. They are perfect for a fast, easy and satisfying dinner. Please never discontinue carrying them!
These filets are DISGUSTING ! Very greasy and they smell like dirty fry bins when cooking . NOwhere near a Chick Fil A sandwich . Someone from Aldi must have started this rumor to garner business .
Clean your fryer!
The Aldi red Bag Chicken Breasts are not ‘greasy’ at all. They do not ‘smell like dirty fry bins when cooking’ at all. Either CM does not know how to cook, or works for Chick Fil A. The Chicken Breasts are very tasty, lightly seasoned, and the breading is just right.
I second that Morgan!
Troll. Ignore comments
Clean your air fryer! Also your comment was extremely unhelpful and unnecessary. Bye ✌????
This is a big hit at our house now!! Quick and easy.
On my grocery list all the time.
Tried these and was not sure what to expect. Didn’t have an air frier, dso we made them in the oven. My son loved them and the 1st bag was gone in a few days. Went back and got another bag and it didn’t last long. Well, its the day after Christmas. My best friend got me an air frier as a gift and my son talked about the sandwiches the whole way home. So, I’m patiently waiting for Aldi to open so I can get another bag of chicken so my son can have these for dinner when he gets off work.
I love these!!!! Do you preheat the air fryer first?
You should always preheat your air fryer for a few minutes before putting anything in
It’s fine. I would eat it again but nothing like chicken fil a. Not even close.
I never had a Chick Fil A sandwich but that sauce recipe was very good on regular fries.

I tried it, it was just so so. Hubby didn’t like it.
I do not have an air fryer, but baked in my convection oven. It worked great! This is a real close copycat! Thank you!
